End of Service Gratuity Calculator (UAE)

Estimate the end of service gratuity due to an employee in the UAE private sector, based on last basic salary and length of service.

Estimate only, based on the standard formula in the UAE labour law for private sector employees. Free zones, specific contracts, and special cases can differ. Confirm with your employer, HR, or the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).

How to use the end of service gratuity calculator

  1. Enter your joining date and your last working day.
  2. Enter your last basic monthly salary. Do not include housing, transport or other allowances.
  3. Add any unpaid leave days, then press Calculate gratuity.

How it works

For employees with at least one year of continuous service, the standard UAE formula pays 21 days of basic wage for each of the first five years and 30 days of basic wage for each year after that. Partial years are counted in proportion. The total gratuity cannot exceed two years of basic wage.

The calculator converts basic salary to a daily wage by dividing by 30, then applies the rule above to your length of service. Unpaid leave days are deducted from service time.

Example

Basic salary 5,000 and 8 years of service: daily wage = 5,000 / 30 = 166.67. Gratuity days = (21 ร— 5) + (30 ร— 3) = 195 days. Gratuity = 195 ร— 166.67 = 32,500. This is below the cap of 120,000 (24 months of basic salary).
