How to use the date calculator
- For a difference, choose a start date and an end date and press Calculate difference.
- To include the end date in the count, tick the checkbox.
- To add or subtract days, choose a starting date, enter the number of days and press Calculate new date.
How it works
The difference between two dates is the number of calendar days between them. Counting the end date as well, which is useful for leave, hotel nights or contracts, adds one day to the result.
To add or subtract days, the calculator moves the starting date forward or backward by the number of days you enter. Use a negative number to subtract. Leap years are handled automatically.
Example
From 1 January 2026 to 1 March 2026 there are 59 days (31 in January plus 28 in February). Including the end date makes it 60.
